Get someone to make you a raffle video - free.

You’d like a video of your charities raffle car or bike yet you either don’t know how to make one or you’d rather have something a little better produced than you can handle? No problem. Here are a couple of tips to not only get a great video made for free but also involve more folks from your community in your organizations fund raiser.

Tip #1

Visit your local high school and speak with either the art teacher or faculty involved in the Audio-Visual and/or Computer club. What you’re going to shoot for is having the kids make you a video of your raffle prize and upload it to the internet (Youtube.com, etc.) for you. Not only does this get you out of making the video and playing around online but you’re also going to get a ton more local people involved in, and aware of, your raffle.

When you get a handful of kids working on your raffle video (for free of course) and having them post it online you’ll get a few things you may not expect. a) They are going to probably get it done in half the time. b) They will probably do a far better job than you could. c) They are going to tell their parents what they are working on that week at school. (Perhaps you provide all the kids that work on the raffle video a “special” ticket offer they can give their parents as a “thank you” token. Expand it to an offer to all the teachers and employees of the school as well) d) You get into the school. Teachers and those involved with education tend to be, at least in my experience, pretty good and caring people. The same kind of people willing to help out another good cause with a ticket purchase.

Tip #2

Along the same vein as taping into local businesses to expand your online advertising this tip is about the good old barter system. Flip open your local phone book and find local photographers and/or videographers. Depending on your market you may want to find the “little” or “new” guy who would most benefit, or most needs, some free advertising. You’re going to offer free advertising for his business in exchange for a simple one or two minute video production. On their end the video guy will make a nice video for you and post it online. On your end you’ll mention his/her business name in flyers, on your website and let him put his business name and/or website on the tail end of the raffle video. You both get what you want and your organization keeps a few bucks in the bank. All you’ve got to do is ask!
